Which buyers of company data want support tickets, email, chat, code or CRM records?
Quick answer, updated
Every buyer in the index names the data it wants, in its own words. 32 of 51 name support tickets or service records, 32 email, 34 chat such as Slack or Teams, 27 code or repositories, 30 CRM or sales records, 12 call recordings or transcripts and 23 finance or accounting records. The tables below are built from the index by matching each buyer’s published wording, so a buyer appears under a kind of data only when its own page names it. Naming a kind of data is interest, not an offer.
By David Persson, editor of Data Licensing Index.
How the tables are built
Each buyer’s row in the index lists the data types it names on its own pages. The tables below match that wording against a kind of data, so Labelbox Prism appears under support tickets because it names “Customer support logs (6+ months)”, and Turing appears under code with the note that code is never bought on its own. A buyer that names “operational data” without naming a kind does not appear, which is a limit of its wording, not a judgment. Each name links to the full record and its sources.
Support tickets and service records
32 buyers name tickets, support logs or service records. Tickets are the kind of record buyers describe most often, because a ticket ties a problem to what someone did about it and whether it worked.

Two details from the rows: Labelbox Prism asks for at least six months of support logs, and SuperAnnotate names tickets together with approvals, escalations and incident reviews, which is the decision trail around a ticket rather than the ticket alone.

Email is also the record that most often needs extra care. Messages written by staff based in the EU, UK or Canada usually need consent or anonymization before licensing, and client correspondence at law, accounting, tax and health firms usually cannot be licensed without client consent. We flag both before any introduction.
Chat: Slack, Teams and messaging
34 buyers name chat. Mercor connects Slack and Microsoft Teams directly, micro1’s track for companies no longer operating is built around Slack or Teams data, and Turing lists communications first among the records that stand on their own.

27 buyers name code. They want different things from it: pre.dev licenses private codebases on their own, per million tokens and non-exclusive by default, and sells coding tasks built from them rather than repository access. Ooak Data names code and pull requests among nine kinds of record, Miro Advisory publishes a separate indicative range for private codebases, and Turing says code is welcome when it is there but never bought on its own.

What the kind of data does not tell you
- Years and connection matter more than the kind. Labelbox Prism names cross-system workflows across Salesforce, Jira and Slack, Scale AI turns de-identified operational workflows into training data, and Handshake AI asks for 3+ years in operation. A single export of one system is the weakest version of every kind above.
- Rights decide what can be included. Client-held material, customer recordings and personal data in email and chat are the records most often removed before a deal. The offer checklist covers de-identification and platform terms.
- Size rules still apply. Naming your kind of data does not waive a buyer’s minimum. The size guide lists every published minimum, and the value estimator applies the published ranges to your company.

Frequently asked questions
Can I sell only my company's Slack or Teams data?
Some buyers say chat stands on its own. Turing says communications, tickets, wikis and databases stand on their own and are often the most valuable part, and micro1’s track for companies no longer operating asks for Slack or Teams data with 50+ peak employees. Others, such as Handshake AI and Mercor, list chat as one of many connected sources. Employee chat from EU, UK or Canada-based staff usually needs consent or anonymization first.
Who buys source code?
pre.dev licenses private codebases on their own, priced per million tokens and non-exclusive by default. Miro Advisory publishes an indicative $10K to $1M+ for private codebases, Datavendor lists private codebases (public repositories cannot be listed), SimpleClosure AssetHub takes source code submissions through GitHub, and Labelbox Prism names code edit traces. Turing takes code only alongside other records and says it is never bought on its own.
Who buys call recordings and transcripts?
Mode names calls and transcripts, Polyshares and SourceX name call recordings, Korra names approved call transcripts and LH2 AI Labs names audio and call recordings. Recordings of customers or clients usually need a consent check before anyone can license them, and we flag that before any introduction.
Who buys finance and accounting records?
Longitude Labs licenses financial documents with substantive analysis, such as investment committee memos and diligence materials, at $25k to $500k per partnership. Protege names back-office finance, Handshake AI names NetSuite, QuickBooks and Paychex, Appen names ERP, finance, contracts, HR, payroll and procurement records, and Sanctus Data Labs names FP&A and general ledger data. Client data from accounting, tax and law firms usually needs consent or anonymization.
Does naming a kind of data mean a buyer will pay for mine?
No. It means the buyer has said it is interested in that kind of record. Most buyers also set a minimum company size, years of history and language, and every published range is a claim, not an offer. The size guide shows which minimums you meet, and the value check compares the buyers that fit.
